(Barcelona, Spain, 1946) has a PhD in Aesthetics and Arts Theory.

Well known composer and writer, he has been teaching Aesthetics at Madrid University. He is a frequent contributor on cultural and art aspects to the media.

As a career diplomat, since 1977, he has traveled all over the world. In 1991 he was appointed General Director for Culture and Science, at the Spanish Government.

After serving as Ambassador of Spain to the Philippines (1997/2000) he is now Executive Director of the ASEF – Asia-Europe Foundation, based in Singapore.
